Andrew Wiseman launched Wiseman Lawyers in January 2010, after having served ten years in the Australian Army, before completing his Bachelor of Laws with Queensland University of Technology, and then working with several prominent Brisbane law firms.
Born in Melbourne, Andrew joined the Australian Army in 1992 aged 15 as a 47th Class Army Apprentice.
Andrew went on to spend his entire Military career in Queensland, with postings including Oakey Air Base, Brisbane's 7th Brigade and Townsville's Second Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (2RAR).
Andrew deployed with 2RAR to East Timor in 1999 as part of International Force East Timor (INTERFET) and again in 2001 with the United Nations Transitional Administration East Timor (UNTAET), being promoted to Corporal in between.
Andrew was awarded the Australian Active Service Medal, the United Nations Medal, the INTERFET Medal and the Australian Defence Medal.
Andrew discharged in 2002 and immediately commenced his Bachelor of Laws, graduating from Queensland University of Technology in 2006.
Andrew was admitted as a Lawyer of the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia in 2007.
Andrew worked with a number of notable Brisbane law firms from 2006 until the launch of Wiseman Lawyers in January 2010.
From 2012 to 2016, Andrew authored the Traffic Law chapter of LexisNexis' respected loose leaf legal publication Carter's Criminal Law of Queensland, only giving up the role after the birth of his son.
Relied upon by both the judiciary and legal profession alike, Carter's Criminal Law of Queensland is this State's number one publication on this area of law.
Andrew is recognised by Doyle's Guide as a Leading Queensland Traffic & DUI Lawyer.
